A Little Heat in August; Heat Embossing That Is

 Hello there,

Thanks for stopping in today to visit the Sisters in Stamping.  This week we are sharing with you projects that are heat embossing. You know stamp in versamark, add powder to the top and then heat set to make it nice and shiny?  Heat embossing is always a wow and can make projects look so elegant.

First up,we have Cindy Blekas' card. Who wouldn't love a latte card? This would even be good to add a nice little gift card too. Visit Cindy's blog for more information.

Then we have a card that uses a heat emboss technique from Rachel Yurkanin. If you want to know how to do it, you will need to visit her blog for details.

Jennifer Rawlings decided to take on two different embossing methods - heat embossing and additional texture by applying embossing paste with a stencil.  Check out her blog to learn more!

Silver and Gold

  Silver and gold - what do you envision when you hear these words?  Do you think of jewelry, coins, Olympic medals or even the Burl Ives song from the Rudolph movie?  We're hoping that you'll think of fabulous cards after you check out our post this week!  Cindy Blekas challenged us to feature silver or gold in our creations this week - please read on to see them and enjoy the inspiration.

The Summer Mini Catalog is Here!!

I love getting new mini catalogs and seeing all of the great new sets and accessories!  Well the new Summer Mini Catalog is officially here!  The sales period for this mini is May 1st through August 31st!  This week we "sisters in stamping" are sharing with you cards or projects made using our favorite new set from the mini!

We have all taken turns here at the Sisters In Stamping and picked some of our favorite techniques for the posts in the month of March....this week I (Karla) picked the brayer. The brayer is one of those really cool tools that can be a little intimidating to some crafters, but once you start brayering you just can't stop! Here is Rachel's card for this week--

The Sisters in Stamping

Emboss this... it's fabulous fun!

As we continue our focus on techniques this month here on the Sisters in Stamping blog, we are featuring those that employ heat embossing.  Ever since I was first introduced to stamping seven years ago at a Stampin' Up! Christmas card workshop I have been enamored with the idea of embossing powder, Versamark ink and a heat gun and the "wow" effect it creates for such little effort.  Let's take a look at the fabulous projects created for you this week by the Sisters...

Jacque Craig submitted this gorgeous card featuring the Eat Chocolate stamp set found in the Occasions mini catalog.  She embossed the tops of her chocolate bon bons... get more details on her blog here.

Here is the card from Rachel Yurkanin - I love the soft spring colors.  Her technique with the Bold Blossoms stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog is "emboss resist" - you can find more details on her blog here.

Karla Anders created this great project featuring Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  You can get all the details of her project on her blog here.
