Shimmer Abounds

This week here at Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on shimmer paint and techniques using it.  Hope you have enjoyed our focus on techniques for the month of March.  It was a lot of fun to play with some items we have in our stashes that don't get used too much anymore because we have too many favorite things to use.

Don't forget Sale-a-bration ends next Thursday, March 31, 2011.  So contact your demonstrator today to place your Sale-a-bration order.

First up we have Debbie's beautiful card, using shimmer paint in a polished stone with a twist technique.  Be sure to head over to Debbie's blog for complete details on how you can remake this card for yourself.

Next up, we have Jacque's very pretty card that uses two different shimmer paints with a watercoloring technique.  Need more details, jump over to Jacque's blog for all the details.  You won't want to miss out on how to do use this technique.

And finally, we have Rachel's card that uses shimmer paint directly on an inked stamp.  For all the details go to Rachel's blog and she will explain it all.

Karla will be taking the next couple of weeks off, there is some remodeling going on at her house.

Thanks for stopping by this week.  We hope you have found a tecnhique or two that you can't wait to try on your own.  Come back next week, when we will have Birthday cards for you.  We can all use more birthday cards, right?

Have a great week!

It's time for another Fabulous Fun Friday!

We have all taken turns here at the Sisters In Stamping and picked some of our favorite techniques for the posts in the month of March....this week I (Karla) picked the brayer. The brayer is one of those really cool tools that can be a little intimidating to some crafters, but once you start brayering you just can't stop! Here is Rachel's card for this week--

I love the creative way she used her brayer! Find out all about the reflection technique on her blog: http://rachelsstampingplace.blogspot.com/

Next up is Jacque--

So Pretty!! Here is a link to her blog so you can go check it out: http://stampinwithjacque.com/

Debbie's been working her brayer, here is her card for this week--

Love this technique, it's called Emerging Color. She has instructions on her blog.

Lastly here is my card for this week--

This fun technique is called Frosted Glass, I have other pictures on my blog: http://stampinwithk.blogspot.com/

Well, it has been entertaining to see what everyone has come up to make with their brayers. Next week the Sisters are going to get creative with our Shimmer Paints. Hope you can make it back next Friday to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Emboss this... it's fabulous fun!

As we continue our focus on techniques this month here on the Sisters in Stamping blog, we are featuring those that employ heat embossing.  Ever since I was first introduced to stamping seven years ago at a Stampin' Up! Christmas card workshop I have been enamored with the idea of embossing powder, Versamark ink and a heat gun and the "wow" effect it creates for such little effort.  Let's take a look at the fabulous projects created for you this week by the Sisters...

Jacque Craig submitted this gorgeous card featuring the Eat Chocolate stamp set found in the Occasions mini catalog.  She embossed the tops of her chocolate bon bons... get more details on her blog here.

Here is the card from Rachel Yurkanin - I love the soft spring colors.  Her technique with the Bold Blossoms stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog is "emboss resist" - you can find more details on her blog here.

Karla Anders created this great project featuring Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  You can get all the details of her project on her blog here.

And here is my contribution for the week - I used the cracked glass technique to create my faux cameo with the Easter Blossoms stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog.  You will find full instructions on my blog post here.

Thanks for visiting with us today!  We hope you have a fabulous weekend and have a chance to give one of our featured embossing techniques a try.

Let's 2-Step... Stamp That Is!!

Happy March!  I can't believe that it's March already!!  Where is the year going?!?  Thanks so stopping by for yet another Fabulous Friday here on Sisters in Stamping!  This month we are focusing on techniques!  When I first started with Stampin' Up! (nine fun-filled years ago), one of the things I loved most about Stampin' Up! were the 2-Step stamp sets!  These sets and the technique that goes along with them continues to be one of my favorites!  As you can see by the samples below, it's easy to create beautiful dimensional images using this technique!

First up we have Debbie's beautiful Baby Blossoms Get Well card!  The minute I saw this card, I knew I had to CASE it for my March Stamp-A-Stack!  Check out Debbie's blog for more information on supplies used!

Next up we have Rachel's beautiful card using the Awash with Flowers stamp set!  Check out Rachel's blog for more information.

Karla used the stamp set Flower Fancy for her 2-step stamping card this week, get more details on her blog: http://stampinwithk.blogspot.com/

Here is my card also using the Awash with Flowers stamp set.  Rachel and I seem to be thinking a lot a like these days!  Check out my blog for a list of supplies that I used to make this fun card!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit.  Have a great weekend!!
